Volunteer

Aging Well Penticton is a partnership of community organizations and local government that are working together to
enhance belonging and reduce the social isolation of seniors. The pandemic has increased concerns of isolation, but there are still
things we can all do to promote social connections. Whether it is reaching out to help a neighbor or family member, or taking on
a more formal volunteer role, we can safely make a huge difference for people who need a helping hand or conversation.

Our collaborating partners have the following volunteer opportunities at this time:

South Okanagan Loss Society (SOLS): Looking for caring, compassionate volunteers and Board of Directors who understand the grief experience and are wanting to support others. Please contact us at 250-488-1320 or email SOLS.penticton@gmail.com

OneSky/Seniors Wellness Society: Volunteers are a crucial part of the Seniors Wellness Society and OneSky Community Resources seniors services programs.  Our volunteers are part of a community initiative to increase quality of life by building a community capacity and helping to reduce isolation and vulnerability for the seniors in Penticton.  With flexible schedules and time commitments to suit your needs, there are many ways to be involved in your community.  We appreciate all help, even if it is on an occasional basis. For more information or an application form call: 250-487-7455 or email SeniorsWellnessSociety@oneskycommunity.com or access online application at https://www.seniorswellnesssociety.com

Penticton Seniors Drop in Centre: The Centre is fully functioning and volunteers are needed. For example: Crew members who set up and take down a room for activities or events; Maintenance crew members who are skilled at small repairs; Secretary to record and type minutes at monthly board meetings; piano player who can play by ear and many other opportunities. For information, contact Tracy, Manager of Volunteer Services  at 250 493 2111 or email volunteermanager@pentictonseniors.ca
